We are working to become mature Christians who in turn lead others to become mature Disciples of Christ. You'll find additional information regarding our connectedness with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ - national and international ministries) as well as our more local regional office - the Christian Church of Illinois and Wisconsin. Walter Scott camp and retreat center is but one of our many region resources.

Every effort has been made to provide correct and accurate information. If you discover something that needs to be changed, updated or added, please call the church office or e-mail our office manager at dmccs@ctitech.com. You may also send information to our webmaster at dmccweb@ctitech.com

DMCC REPORT

                                                    LIVING GENEROUSLY

Stewardship is about much more than money.  Faithful stewardship is really a reflection of our duty as a Disciple.  Stewardship is careful management of all our resources.  A commitment of your time as a choir member, a committee member, a greeter, a lay leader, or any other duty is part of your stewardship.

Last fall, the Stewardship/Finance Committee led a program to promote financial commitment to our Church's General Fund.  We had not had a stewardship program for several years, and we did not push the program very hard mostly because of the current "recession".  We did not do a general mailing or any follow-up.  We had a moderate response and we sincerely appreciate everyone who responded.  We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributes to our church and its programs each Sunday.

Our longtime member and Elder Emeritis, Hartzell Givens, who passed away a while ago was a very faithful steward.  He was extremely faithful in his support to our church.  Recently, we received a notification that Hartzell had bequeathed $95,000 to Davis Memorial.  Part of that gift will be added to our investment with the Christian Church Foundation and part of his gift comes at the time when we are looking for a new minister and all the expenses that will bring.

"God will provide" comes to our minds often, and if you look back over the past few years, he certainly has provided for us.

                                                                             Respectfully submitted,

                                                                             Stewardship/Finance Ministry

                                                                             Ruth Sullivan, Chairman
